Babusingh’s Thakur Pedha’s legacy began in the village of Unnao, outside of Lucknow, and later migrated to Dharwad, Karnataka. Ramratansingh Thakur was the first generation confectioner to produce and sell the now-famous sweet locally, which was continued by Mohansingh Thakur from the second generation. The sweet began to gain recognition with the arrival of the third generation Babusingh Thakur. Since then, the demand for our homemade, handcrafted sweets has continued to grow. Ramratansingh Thakur from the 4th generation continued to grow the business. Now Durgasingh Thakur and Karansingh Thakur, members of the 5th and 6th generations, are currently continuing the legacy.

We believe that the richness and legacy of any traditional recipe can only be achieved through the labour of love, dedication, and, most importantly, the use of one’s hands. In our factories, we only use our hands to make this delectable sweet.
Only milk and sugar are used to make this traditional sweet with rich proteins. Instead of using a stove or an oven, the mixture is cooked on a wood fire and then formed into small, bite-sized morsels; everything is made by hand. Our four-hour sweet-making process results in the best sweet available on the market. You will notice the magic of milk and sugar working together as ingredients to provide you with a highly rich and well-defined taste that is entirely traditional. To truly appreciate the taste of tradition, you must try our sweet which is soft with a milk texture that melts in your mouth.
